Windows 8

Safe boot – F8 – is to fast to catch.

I found a German Website which describes all possible methods to boot the safe mode and here are the most useful to me.
No further explanations only the raw “Information” … 😉

one time safe boot:

open cmd evaluated and put into it:

shutdown.exe /r /o /f /t 00
Win + I -> hold shift and click on power/restart -> you’ll get different boot options

x time safe boot:

open msconfig and mark the safe boot option under the “boot” tab

You can also set the following bcedit command:

open cmd as admin and

bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy legacy

deactivate Fast Boot

search for the power options and hit “Choose what the power button does”
-> “Change Settings that are currently unavailable” and disable “Turn on fast startup”

If you don’t use the sleep modes via hyperfile.sys (powercfg /h off) you don’t have to set it.
